Statement of Faith

God

We believe that there is one God who exists in three persons (the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit). This Triune God is the sovereign creator and ruler of all. God is the beginning and the end; all things were created by him, and for Him.

Jesus

We believe Jesus is part of the Trinity of God. In His incarnation, Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a Virgin. Jesus being both fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, perfectly fulfilled the Law of God, died on the cross as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world, resurrected on the third day, and ascended to the throne of God where he daily makes intersession for those who by faith have trusted on Jesus for salvation.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity of God. The Holy Spirit helps those who by faith have trusted Jesus for salvation. He helps by convicting of sin, communicating the word of God, sealing the believer in salvation, imparting gifts to the Christian according to the will of God, and interceding for us before God.

Man

We believe man was created in God’s image. Man was created male and female as part of the divine order, and gender is a good gift of God. In the beginning man was created sinless and had freedom of choice. Man sinned in his freedom, bringing upon all creation the curse of death and sin. By nature and choice, since the time of the first sin, all of mankind is under the curse, dead in sin, and in need of a savior.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift from God. God in His divine sovereignty unconditionally ordained the salvation of the elect, according to His good and perfect will. This salvation frees us from the penalty of sin, and credits us with the righteousness of Christ. This exchange is made possible by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In our sin we all deserve death, both physical and spiritual. Jesus Christ died in our place, paying our sin debt, and in exchange imputed to us His perfect righteousness. We receive this salvation, when we experience God’s grace through faith by placing our trust in the person and work of Jesus. The result of this salvation is new life, both in the present, and in eternity.

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the word of God, and is supremely authoritative for all matters of faith and practice. The scriptures were written under the inspiration of God, and are true and trustworthy.

Church

We believe that the church is the God ordained institution for carrying out God’s will in the world in this present age. The church has as its foundation Jesus Christ, the son of the living god. The church has Jesus as its High Priest and Chief Shepherd. The church is part of the universal church of God, as well as an autonomous local representation of Christ. The church exists to glorify God, and to carry out the gospel call of making disciples of all people from every tribe and nation.
